Well understanding USB on Linux will have to wait another day. I can use the Ethernet for now, and I have to do other things (like adding Telepen 1D barcodes to our car printing system!). All good fun.

Any linux usb experts on here? My google fu is not finding me answers. I have a printer, it is not reporting as a printer but as vendor specific. I expect it to be simple stream of data both ways. Any way I can convince linux (a rasp pi) that it is a printer and install lp0?

RT petertimmins3: PPE Medpro was incorporated in May this year with a share capital of ยฃ100 . It has just won, without tender, a ยฃ110,000,000 contract to supply PPE to the NHS

The govt is being run by a bunch of corrupt who award contracts to pals, paying them millions in tax payers money

So new generation of plastic card designs. Except I have my mag stripe coding the wrong side. But I do have mag encoding and reading. Next is contact and then contactless coding. All good fun.

Hey @Tesco, why do you have a tatty barcode sticker on the scan and shop tills when you could just display it on the idle screen itself? One is out of service, as missing barcode even. Daft.

micro printing
First attempt - 0.75mm font height.
Looks like I can go a lot smaller if I try.

It has been a busy day reverse engineering and re-engineering a new design. It is quite satisfying working on something tangible like a printer!

RT BarristerSecret: So thatโ€™s your link? Contemporaneity? Seriously? You justify that tweet on the basis that, at the same time as deporting some foreign national offenders, you were - wholly separately - challenged against unlawfully removing some asylum seekers?

Is that genuinely your defence? twitter.com/ukhomeoffice/statu

RT BarristerSecret: @ukhomeoffice @StevePeers @pritipatel So thatโ€™s your link? Contemporaneity? Seriously? So @BulbUK have been unable raise a proper bill since I got the account, in spite of sending meter readings.
Now I have left they finally managed, after some weeks.
They owe me over ยฃ7k back.
They plan to send it "in instalments over next 2 weeks".
Why the hell would they do that

RT Resjudicatamyft: @AdamWagner1 @Francis_Hoar And in this section, they refer to โ€œdoing something that is against the guidelinesโ€, and have a heading โ€œReporting a social distance violationโ€. The site needs revisiting @metpoliceuk 4/

โ€œIP addresses ... mainly serve to identify, through providers of electronic communications services, the natural person who owns the terminal equipment from which an Internet communication is madeโ€

Aargh.

No.
They.
Do.
Not.

I'll try that again - re-watching Futurama 1st episode. Bender says the head museum is free on Tuesdays. So I did cal 3000 and saw 1st Jan 3000 is Wednesday - have I caught them out? Then I realised this is actually set in New Year's Eve. Damn, they have some attention to detail!

I only just spotted: Bender says the head museum is "free on Tuesdays", but Jan 1st 3000 will be a Wednesday?

Does anyone know where the law on self-isolation is exactly. Not obvious on legislation.gov.uk which it is.

RT cybergibbons: @alexbloor Honestly, I am dreading it.

If I need to fill out a carnet to deliver training in the EU, it's going to be 500-1000 lines, possibly hundreds of pounds, a bond of 10k+. Vs just going there.
